Dr. Thanh Nguyen DSOM, LAc
Dr. Thanh Nguyen, DSOM LAc, (fondly referred to as Dr. T) completed her Doctor of Science in Oriental Medicine degree at the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon and is board certified in Arizona. She trained in acupuncture and chinese herbs along with other Chinese/East Asian modalities such as cupping, guasha, tuina, nutrition, etc. Dr. T loves classical modalities and has a passion for bringing some of the potent aspects of this medicine to her patients.
Dr. T hails from a family that has 4 generations of East Asian medicine practitioners in Vietnam. She immigrated to the US when she was 13 and started her medical training as a naturopath but found her true calling in classical East Asian medicine.
As a licensed acupuncturist, she has trained in Chinese, Japanese and Korean styles, five-element, warm needle, fire needle, flying needle, 7-star needle, bleeding, auricular, scalp, facial and cosmetic acupuncture. In addition, she is versed in techniques and applications of moxa, cupping and guasha. Key to her practice, Thanh uses East Asian physical diagnostic techniques such as tongue and pulse assessment as well as Japanese abdominal palpation. She has been mentored by some amazing doctors and has extensive experience interning in a wide variety of clinical settings including the Asian Health Center, An Hao Clinic and NUNM main clinic.
